Maths Talk at Hoon Hay School

At our school we work with a maths mate and share our thinking with them. We ask questions about our maths and if we aren't sure of something, we explain how we do it. We know that 2 brains are often better than one and we enjoy working collaboratively. 

Today Kyla and I worked on solving this problem. we used repeated addition and our answer was 33.50

Kyla, Mya and Grace went to the movies. Their tickets cost $14.60 each. How much did their tickets cost altogether?

Last term Pippa and I were maths buddy's this was one of our favourite pieces of maths we did.
It was 153 - 18  = 104.60$
153 - 50 = 103
103 + 2 = 105
105.2 - .6
$ 104.60

Spencer park camp

On the first day of term two room 15 went to Spencer park camp

this is a photo of me at adrenaline forest.

It was really fun on the zip line because it felt like you where going to crash.
it was also really fun on the swing beam thing because I fell off.

The Greatest Showman was usual enough;

It had comfy seats, delicious popcorn, living humans and even a random shoe.

Elsie, Natalie and I did what best friends do -
Sitting on the comfy seats, laughing so hard Natalie was crying, accidentally spilt popcorn on someone, ate a lot of lollies and talking

Doing nothing important.

This year I am in Te Kanawa's Marae - Room 15 and my teacher’s name is Mrs Peterson. 

I am very excited to share my learning journey with you this year.
